Jack London was the author of such notable novels as The Call of the Wild and White Fang. In 1903, London sold The Call of the Wild to The Saturday Evening Post for $750. London was a war correspondent in the Russo-Japanese war, as well as an avid activist, supporting unions and workers' rights.
